Give the gift of Folkmoot this year!
Maybe give the gift of a new auditorium seat in our renovated concert hall. Maybe the gift of an international flag in your loved one’s honor. Maybe a brick emblazoned with your loved one’s name in our entrance or courtyard. Maybe think bigger and give a Friends of Folkmoot gift.
With any gift of Folkmoot you’d like to give you can be assured each dollar spent goes toward broadening cultural understanding and acceptance through the arts, creating a global community of friends.
The opportunities for gifts to benefit Folkmoot include:
- $500 each – Auditorium seats with commemorative message
- $350 each – International flags for town displays and a commemorative brick at FFC
- $250 each – Commemorative brick in Friendship Center entryway and courtyard
- $150 – Two Tickets, Friends Gala Event or Two Tickets, show of your choice, July 21 – 31, 2016
We’ll be happy to help you select a Folkmoot gift. We’ll even gift-wrap it for you! Call the Folkmoot office, 828-452-2997, or fill out the form at the bottom of this page and we’ll reach out to you!
Folkmoot is a beacon of peace and prosperity in a world too often fraught with cultural conflict and division. From our schools to our workplaces in the United States and abroad, differences in background and culture sometimes create harmful perceptions that can result in bullying and fractured communities. Yet Folkmoot successfully uses heritage dance, music, costume and other arts to introduce children and adults in WNC and from around the world to cultures different than our own. Through community programs, events and festivals, Folkmoot helps build cultural bridges based on common values (as differences become less imposing), changing how we relate to community members and the rest of the world.
The Folkmoot Festival has hosted more than 8000 performers from almost 200 foreign countries around the globe, creating a worldwide network of goodwill ambassadors. The summer program has been the center point for our organization. With your help, we can do more. Folkmoot is expanding into year-round programming as we complete renovations on our 42,000 sq. ft. Folkmoot Friendship Center, the Historic Hazelwood School. The Center will be a resource for our entire community!
As a 32 year strong 501(c)3 non-profit, Folkmoot fulfills its purpose with event proceeds, grants, sponsorships, public support and most importantly, individual donations.
We deeply appreciate your support of Folkmoot. THANK YOU for embracing Folkmoot and for helping to produce another year of summer magic. NOW help bring the magic year-round!
