Folkmoot USA is bringing back “Camp Folkmoot” for 2019 — a one-day dance camp for kids and teens between 3rd and 12th grades. The camp will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19, at the Folkmoot Friendship Center in Hazelwood. The cost is $30 for students and $10 for parents.
The camp is open to dancers of all abilities who are inspired by dance and cultural arts. Participants will learn basic concepts and movements, gain an appreciation for the similarities and differences between cultures and hear captivating stories behind the dances of each international cultural group.
The day includes dance instruction, “make-and-take” cultural crafts, lantern making for Folkmoot After Dark and culminates in a short performance with the groups and community participants.
Families and youth groups are encouraged to register. Snacks, lunch, and drinks will be provided. Discounts are available to groups of four or more if registered together | For more information, contact Elizabeth Burson at email@example.com. Register at Folkmoot.org or by calling 452-2997.
