The inaugural May Day @ Folkmoot was very successful – on many levels – all due to the volunteers, participating businesses and organizations, and the community which turned out in great numbers!

Thanks to everyone!

“Thanks to the community who supported Folkmoot in our Friends of Folkmoot event, May Day Celebration and Spring Cleaning Sale!,” said Folkmoot Executive Director Angeline Schwab. “We had almost 1000 guests through the Friendship Center on Virginia Avenue in Waynesville and raised almost $10,000 towards our goal of 1.2 million for the Campaign for Folkmoot!

Videographer extraordinaire and long-time Folkmoot friend and supporter Art Hoffman crafted some wonderful videos of the event. Parents and friends of Angie’s Dance Studio, you will want to watch this video. For music lovers, particularly of the classic American Songbook you will want to see the video of the Haywood Community Band playing (as it was also Kentucky Derby Day), “My Old Kentucky Home.”
