A new series of events is coming to Haywood County! The Folkmoot Center, Blue Ridge Books and the Haywood County Public Library have created a Southern Storytellers Series, bringing southern culture and our region’s authors together with the community for a unique night of food, fun, and discussion. Dates are being selected for the Spring and Fall of 2018.
As organizations devoted to educational enrichment and cultural engagement, the Haywood County Library, Blue Ridge Books and Folkmoot are working together to energize the discussion of the history and evolution of southern culture, and how the region’s rich storytelling affects our experience of everyday life.
Hosted by local author and columnist Chris Cox, the series will consist of an evening of dinner, drinks and conversation with the evening’s featured author/artist in the historic Hazelwood School building. Authors will be asked to present a 40-minute talk about their writing. Talks may be augmented with an illustrative food and beverage menu, audience questions, musical performances, visual art displays, dance, and/or panel discussions.
Tickets are available through the Folkmoot website (Folkmoot.org), and books will be available for purchase on site from Waynesville’s independent bookseller, Blue Ridge Books.
